Get the Gum Out of Your Shoe Treads

Word for April 21st, 2022

When you walk along and by accident you step on a piece of gum, that can create quite a mess, can't it? It can get etched into the crevices in your shoes. You can try to wipe it off on stones where you're walking and all it does is spread it around. Well, in your life, if you step into sin in your life, then it can do the same thing. Now if you saw the piece of gum on the walkway and didn't step into it you have avoided that sin in your life. So first you have to recognize and know, really know, what is sin? What do I need to be avoiding? And then if you step in, sometimes by accident, then you have to know what to do to get it out of your life. So it depends on how long it's been there and what you've tried to do to get it out, how far it goes into you. If you just take a surface appliance to cleaning and kind of scrape some of it off, but not dig out where that gum, where that sin has gone in your life, then it's still going to be there festering and impacting you, affecting you. I shine My Light upon sin so that you would see it and then, in the name of Jesus, do something about it. So I can shine My Light that you would know what sin is, that you would then see how it is operating in your life, but you are the one that must use the name of Jesus and dig that out. That takes commitment. That takes you not being pleased with the gum in your shoe, not being pleased about the sin in your life. You have to realize just how negative that sin is in your life for you to take the effort to dig it out of all the crevices that it's worked its way into. You know when you're walking along and you first step in gum and then you wipe your foot on something and it goes into the crevices in your treads, it's still sticky. But over time, if you don't do something about it, little pebbles and little rocks and a little dirt get trapped in there and now it doesn't seem as sticky, but it's still there. So invite My Light to shine into those deep places in you and then when you see you have a choice to dig that out, in the name of Jesus, or to let it stay and continue to hinder you.
