The Shepherd's Life

Word for November 13th, 2022

I want to remind you that in the shepherd's life taking care of the sheep that are obedient, stay close to the shepherd and beckon to his call quickly, that's the easy part. That's the easy part of caring for the sheep. And then there are some sheep that wander off or are rebellious. Those are harder. He has to be correcting them. He has to be calling louder out to them. If he catches them before they go too far, it is easier to call them back. So he needs to be watching and ready to guide gently or with a stern voice. And then there are some that just escape and they become lost and he chooses to go and find the lost sheep and bring them back. I want you to reflect on that concerning your own life, knowing that there are those around you. There are those that beckon your call, your words, your words when you're speaking in the Spirit. And there are some that still wander away, ignoring or rebelling or just getting distracted. And then there are some that wander so far off they get lost. I want you to take a tally of the flock that I've given to you, those in your life. Check in and see, where are they? See what kind of shepherd you have been for them. And remember that the Great Shepherd, Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit in you, is always there to show you what to do. So I need you to be good shepherds, good shepherds now. And you certainly have The Good Shepherd walking with you! Guiding you! Empowering you! Go forth!
