Mountain Climbers Work as a Team - The Body of Christ is Called to Do the Same
Word for March 21st, 2022
Have you ever watched a team of mountain climbers climb and watched the various strategies they use to do that? Or maybe you are someone that has done mountain climbing before and has hands-on experiences as to what that is like. Well, I Am going to talk about that today in terms of the similarities to how I have called you as a team in the Body of Christ to move together. Remember, Jesus is the Head. You can do nothing to climb the mountain, to come together in the Body of Christ, except through Christ. So you know as you watch mountain climbers, whether you have experienced yourself or not, you have watched it and you see how they're tethered together and you see how the one that is most skilled is also teaching others, encouraging others, but also goes ahead to plant things in the rocks to steady the rope, to make a network of ropes that should someone slip, they're caught. They're caught by the stable ones, the stable rope until they get their footing. You've probably seen that some stop climbing. Some are at the bottom of the mountain going, "I don't want to go there. I'm not doing that. I don't trust my own skills and I don't trust somebody else to help me." Or "I'm just going to go off and do it myself." When a team is mountain climbing, they are dependant upon each other. Even preparing for the mountain climb there are others that are gathering food, that are gathering the ropes, that are making sure people are wearing what they need to wear to survive the elements. There is much involved. Well, in the day to day walk in My Church, in the Body of Christ, it is the same. It is a daily walk. Where are you in that walk? Have you shown up to do it or are you lagging behind or have you've decided "I'm not going to do it at all?" As you come together in a team then you learn who you can trust and who you cannot trust based on their character too, not just their skills. They may know how to mountain climb, but if their character is not one that would encourage or support or be there for another, then they become trust-less. You cannot trust them to have your back and that makes it not safe. So when the team is learning to be a team, it's not just about skill. It is about integrity. It is about loving one another. It is about supporting one another. It's about catching people when they slip and fall and coming together and continuing. And that requires everyone to make choices. In the Body of Christ everyone makes choices everyday. What choices are you making? Where are you in that place of the team of the Body of Christ? I want you to look at that. You need to be discerning the 'characters' in the Body. Their character, their integrity, their desire to serve Me, their desire to support one another, the desire they have to teach, to correct. Keep turning to Me. I will always show you the Way!
